Irvin Ackerman, one of our agents, recently spent a day in Cedarhurst, Long Island, helping to rebuild a home owned a 93 year old wheelchair-bound woman. Her home had over 4 feet of water in it from the hurricane. Shortly after the initial volunteer group came in and removed all the storm debris, 12 volunteers from the Albany area drove down and spent a day installing new flooring and re-constucting the walls. Irvin commented, "It's hard to wrap your head around the destruction, and the fact that people are still in such dire need for help, this long after the storm". Kudos to one of own for offering to pitch in!!
